Daredevil: Season 2 Awaits Us This Friday

As if Friday isn’t already a magical, glorious day most people count down to every week, this week for us Marvel fans Friday is even more enticing. Because we get to dive into Season 2 of Daredevil!

This season honestly looks incredible and I really hope it lives up to expectations because Daredevil has easily become one of my absolute favorite shows. I was blown away by the first season and it made me happy that they didn’t just do another movie. Marvel can do so much more with this character on a show and I cannot wait to how Season 2 unfolds and where it might lead to next season…if it gets renewed. But I can’t see it not getting renewed.

It’s Wednesday so we’re halfway there. It’s been a long year waiting for more Matt Murdock and those 13 episodes are just a grasp away.

Until next time, if you missed the final trailer released this Tuesday then check it out below and happy binge-watching this weekend!

Fuller House Season 2 Ordered by Netflix

So much for the critics huh? I was so nervous going into my Season 1 viewing of Fuller House after reading such horrible reviews from the critics. But as I watched the show, I ended up loving it!

It had some corny aspects to it and family show cliches but Full House wasn’t much different. Fuller House had plenty of great aspects to it, nods to Full House (even showing past scenes from the show…and yes, I did have a mini fangirl moment when they showed young DJ and Steve) along with some one-liners or innuendos made by characters that unless you’re a 80s/90s kid all grown up or just an adult watching the show, they might have gone over some viewers’ heads.

Despite any negative reviews others gave it, Fuller House made me feel like a kid again and I’m excited to see what’s in store for Season 2!

The one thing I’m holding out for is DJ and Steve finally ending up back together. As much as I did end up liking Matt, Dj and Steve are endgame in my book. (Oh, also, side note: can we maybe let Steve’s crazy obsession with DJ die down a teeny tiny bit? I adore how much he cares about her but maybe don’t make Steve seem like a crazy person…? Just my two cents! Because DJ and Steve were one of my first OTPs before that was even a thing)

We’ll also have to wait and see if there will ever be a return for Michelle aka Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I’m not holding my breath but you never know. Although, series creator Jeff Franklin still has hope that either one or both twins will change their minds.

“I am still hopeful that Mary-Kate or Ashley or both of them will come back and be a part of it, even if it’s just for an hour. We miss that. Everybody does feel that hole in the family,” Franklin told E! News, “But it’s like, all family reunions, there’s always somebody that doesn’t show up. But hopefully next time around, we’ll have them back.”

Until next time, you can catch all thirteen episodes of Fuller House Season 1 on Netflix now and let me know your thoughts of the show in the comments below!

Daredevil Season 2: Hell’s Kitchen, Meet the Punisher

Source: Marvel’s Daredevil Facebook

Before you know it, February will be coming to an end and March 18 aka the premiere date for Daredevil Season 2 will be right around the corner. And I could not be more excited!

Today we were blessed with a new trailer for Season 2 and…

“I think you’re a man who can’t finish the job.”

“I think you’re a coward.”

“You know, you’re one bad day away from being me…”

Go ahead, Frank. Piss Matt off.

As much as I do love the Punisher, I’m sort of hoping Matt holds his own and can show Frank that Daredevil is not a coward. But at the same time, kind of excited to see what Jon Bernthal brings to the table as Frank Castle. If you watch The Walking Dead, you know how far off the deep end he can go with a character and Frank is not the happiest of people for very understandable reasons.

I can’t wait to see Matt’s limits pushed and see how far he’ll go in order to deal with Frank’s deadly presence in Hell’s Kitchen.

And of course the great thing about Daredevil being on Netflix is that it can go places, darker places, that the other Marvel films and shows on TV don’t and won’t typically do. It has that freedom on Netflix (thank god they made it into a series and not a movie) and I think that’s part of the reason why it turned out so awesome. The same goes for Jessica Jones (which I ended up loving!).

Side note: If you’re a fan of the comics, Marvel is also releasing a new Daredevil/Punisher crossover which will be a five issue miniseries. In the crossover, Daredevil and his new partner Blindspot come head to head with Frank when the Punisher returns to New York.

It’s written by Charles Soule with art from Szymon Kudranski and Reilly Brown and will be released digitally in March, perfectly timed with the Daredevil Netflix series return, and will be on shelves in April.

Until next time, keep counting down with me until March 18 and check out the Daredevil trailer below!

TV Show Goodie Bag…

If you’ve been reading my blog or even if you just came across it (Hello there!), you most likely watch way too many TV shows like me. So I thought I’d give you news on some of my, and hopefully your, favorites.

Let’s start with the very soon approaching Netflix premiere of Jessica Jones. I refuse to make my judgement of the series before I actually watch it. And although I’ve been seeing good things so far leading up to its premiere on Friday November 20, I saw one of the first reviews that had a few somewhat negative thoughts.

Let’s start with the positives first. According to Entertainment Weekly, Krysten Ritter, who plays our superhero Jessica, “looks and acts like a bruised comic-book heroine: Her amused eyebrow arch could’ve been inked by a line artist, and her dry, I’m so bored with you wit betrays a deep vulnerability.”

They also said the cinematography shows the dark beauty of the real New York. This reminds me of how Daredevil portrayed Hell’s Kitchen in New York. Daredevil showed New York in a very different way than the way we saw it in let’s say The Avengers. So I’m guessing Jessica Jones will have a similar feel to Daredevil but will hopefully establish its own ground so we’re not left just comparing it to our time with Matt Murdock in Hell’s Kitchen.

Overall EW gave Jessica Jones a ‘B,’ which isn’t anything to get discouraged about. Their negative remarks say the series contains clichés like saxophone music and shadows through glass and has a CSI feel to it. But I’m holding out hope so as soon as Friday rolls around we’ll be able to find out for ourselves!

Onto Oliver Queen and company. On Arrow we’ll be learning more about Diggle’s brother, Andy, and how he’s *SPOILER ALERT IF YOU’RE NOT CAUGHT UP* still alive. But of course that comes with a catch because although he’s alive, he’s apparently being controlled by good ole Damien Darhk.

For years, Diggle has believed his brother was killed and has been searching to find answers to it all. Now that he knows that Andy’s dirty past was the reasoning behind his death, Diggle wants nothing more than to finally destroy Darhk and H.I.V.E.

“There has to be a finishing through-line to this Andy-Diggle story, which has really been [going on] since season 1, and finding out what his involvement was with H.I.V.E. really adds fuel to the fire in terms of him getting to the bottom of it,” David Ramsey (John Diggle) said.

Ramsey also said that Diggle is very committed to the team and how Oliver and Felicity are his family. And because of everything with H.I.V.E and Darhk, he will need the help of Team Arrow.

“Now, since Damien Darhk is on the scene, and he is so entrenched in H.I.V.E., it’s going to be require the whole team to be closer than ever before, because Damien Darhk is a badass.”

As for Team 5-0 over on Hawaii Five-0, we’ll soon find out more about the ongoing Gabriel storyline. Episode 10 will be the last episode before new episodes return in 2016 and that episode will have a “big turn” in the Gabriel/Adam storyline, according to TV Guide.

Peter Lenkov, H50’s showrunner said, “It’s definitely going to affect Kono and Adam’s relationship,” and added, “That threat is not going away. … He’s definitely a big presence in their lives and everybody else’s.”

In Saturday Night Live news, we have some awesome hosts to look forward to in December. Ryan Gosling will be hosting on December 5 with musical guest Leon Bridges, Chris Hemsworth returns as host on December 12 with musical guest Chance the Rapper and last but certainly not least, Tina Fey AND Amy Poehler will be co-hosting on December 19 with musical guest Bruce Springsteen.

Until next time, fellow TV show junkies, enjoy your shows and keep an eye out for more goodie bags!
