As If You Need Another Reason to Adore Chris Evans…

Standard

Need to make your day better with some Evans brothers singing and playing piano together? Of course you do!

This brotherly moment was posted by Chris’ brother Scott, who took the opportunity to embarrass his brother some more (check out another moment of brotherly humiliation here that took place during the press tour of Avengers: Age of Ultron) while the Captain America: Civil War star spent some time off from shooting the film to visit with his family.

After enjoying the down time and relaxation, Evans is back to work on Civil War expected May 2016. And with the recent news that Age of Ultron has become the fifth film in history to pass the $900 million box office mark internationally, Marvel Studios just continues to roll out its box office superhero hits.

Captain America: Civil War has already drawn the fans’ attention ever since the title was officially announced late last year and the cast is jam-packed similar to how the Avengers films have been. From Evans to Robert Downey Jr., the cast also includes Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Sebastian Stan, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd and the list goes on from there.

Another member of the Captain America: The Winter Soldier cast, Hayley Atwell, who is not listed in the cast for Civil War, was on set the other day and did not hesitate to tweet about her time there. (There have been posts and reports that her character Peggy Carter passes away and the funeral takes place in the upcoming film)

Seriously, if you don’t follow Atwell on Twitter I highly suggest it! She’s hilarious and always tweets the best behind the scenes goodies from her ABC show Agent Carter (which just so happened to get picked up for a second season).

Until next time, fellow entertainment junkies, let’s all wait oh so impatiently for Civil War next year. But at least we have Ant-Man this July and whenever Age of Ultron is released on Blu-ray/DVD we can watch that on repeat. (The Winter Soldier and Guardians of the Galaxy have been my go to movies as of late)

And as always, leave me any thoughts or comments below!

I’ll be watching and I will try to make a post if anything really good happens to occur, any cool details about the movie are spoken about during the red carpet interviews and what actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe show up.

Marvel Cinematic Universe: Looking Ahead

Standard

Thanks to Iron Man and the perfection of Robert Downey Jr. as Mr. Tony Stark in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe proved that it would be around for years to come and with the news of future MCU film release dates all the way into 2019, they are staying true to that commitment.

We already know about some of the upcoming films being released. They include: Guardians of the Galaxy arriving soon on August 1, 2014, The Avengers: Age of Ultron on May 1, 2015, Ant-Man on July 17, 2015, Captain America 3 on May 6, 2016 and Doctor Strange on July 8, 2016.

The dates Marvel has released are as follows:

  • May 5, 2017
  • July 28, 2017
  • November 3, 2017
  • July 6, 2018
  • November 2, 2018
  • May 3, 2019

At the moment, they do not have film titles attached to them but hopefully with the always much-anticipated San Diego Comic Con starting on July 24 we’ll get some insight into what films they plan on releasing on those dates!

Seeing that Thor: The Dark World was released in November 2013 maybe they’ll be sticking with that month and we’ll eventually see the third Thor film attached to the November 2017 date. I’m just guessing here so don’t hold me to it!

Some fans are speculating that we may finally get a Black Widow film, which I admit I’d be excited to see. I’m so tired of female superheroes getting downplayed compared to their fellow male superheroes because no one thinks they’ll be as successful in their own films. I completely understand the financial issues/chances they’d need to take but Natasha/Black Widow as well as Scarlett Johansson are bad ass and represent strong female characters and I’d be proud of Marvel if they ended up making a film just for her! Plus there’s a very good chance they’d include Clint/Hawkeye aka Jeremy Renner OR if they want to go the way of the comics…maybe they’ll introduce the relationship Natasha has with the Winter Soldier/Bucky since it would be released after Captain America 3 and we’d get more progress on Bucky and his story line.

Other films they might announce are a fourth Iron Man (fingers crossed since RDJ reportedly only signed on for two more Avengers films), more than likely The Avengers 3, another Guardians of the Galaxy and possibly a new Hulk film with Mark Ruffalo?

Speculating and coming up with theories is always fun, so what do you think? I’ve been seeing some pretty awesome ideas from fans so leave your thoughts below in the comments!

Until next time, fellow entertainment junkies 🙂

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy New Official Trailer

Video

I am a proud Marvel comic book nerd and can never get enough of Marvel’s movies but I have to admit I didn’t know much about Guardians of the Galaxy.
Now save your unnecessary comments about how that may make me a “bad fan” or I’m somehow not dedicated enough or the typical go-to response “I don’t know anything about comics because I’m a girl.” (Never jump to conclusions about female comic book fans…yes, some don’t know everything but others do know their stuff and they rock!)
Anyway, I did my research, learned as much as I could about this incredibly diverse team of heroes and I’m excited to see how the movie comes together in August. Especially after watching the latest trailer (located above for your viewing pleasure), the cast seems pretty awesome and honestly not what I expected but Marvel Studios has known what it’s been doing since Iron Man in 2008 so I never hesitate to put my confidence in their movies.
We also have another Chris to add to the Marvel Cinematic Universe! We already have Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and now we have the pleasure of welcoming Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord. And props to Pratt for bulking up and getting into amazing shape for the role!
The rest of the cast includes other talented names like Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan (cannot wait to see her play a villain!), Benicio Del Toro and Glenn Close…to name more than a few (or more than half the cast).
Guardians of the Galaxy will sadly be the last Marvel Studios movie of the summer and of 2014. Fingers crossed GOTG can rock the box office almost as much as Captain America: The Winter Soldier (I say almost since CA:TWS was phenomenal and broke the opening weekend box office record for April). But hey, GOTG may make some of its own records!
So after GOTG hits theaters on August 1, 2014, the next Marvel Studios movie won’t be here until May 1, 2015 when we FINALLY get The Avengers: Age of Ultron! Let’s just say I’ve been ready for the next Avengers movie since the credits rolled for The Avengers in 2012. Here’s to us waiting impatiently in anticipation after August.
As always, if you want to ramble about Guardians of the Galaxy or anything Marvel, just drop me a comment and let’s talk! 🙂
Until next time, fellow entertainment junkies!
