Fashion Friday: Kendall And Gigi

It’s Paris Fashion Week which made this post easy yet difficult to write. Because there’s so much to choose from but how do I narrow it down?!

I did though, obviously, and the results are Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid attending Olivier Rousteing’s annual post-runway bash after both models walked in the Balmain Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear fashion show. They were wearing, of course, Balmain. And the pieces they each wore were hot off the runway yet still slightly different from what the models rocked.

Gigi posted this photo of the two gorgeous best friends on her Instagram today with the caption, “playin barbie with @balmain 😉 ⇄ #kengi”

Kendall chose a lace-up bustier dress and cream turtleneck paired with suede heels while Gigi wore a pink striped bodysuit and duster coat. And honestly, I feel like their looks are either love it or hate it. I saw both reactions as I looked at photos but for me, there’s something about it that I just love.

The colors, the shoes, the chicness…I’m leaning towards love it. If I had to choose which outfit I’d rock though, I’d go with Gigi’s look. All in all, the two best friends looked beautiful.

And not only did they match color-scheme wise, they also swapped their usual hair colors. Gigi going brunette and Kendall transforming into a blonde.

Until next time, fashion lovers, leave your thoughts on “Kengi’s” look in the comments below and you can also check out this video from Vogue if you’re curious to see what a day in the life of a model is like for Kendall! Oh to have that life…#wishfulthinking 😉

Fashion Friday: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

This past Monday was the Burberry fashion show in London and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley gave me major military jacket envy.

The simple yet sharp blue jacket with gold button detailing also has red stitching throughout as well as on the matching blue trousers. And to top it off, Rosie paired it with a white blouse and a buckle bag from Burberry.

Unfortunately, even if you did have the almost $1400 to spend on the jacket (it’s reportedly priced at $1395) it’s currently not available. But, silver lining, us non-big spenders can just throw “military inspired jackets” into a Google search and find one we like for a lot less. There’s usually a similar cheaper option somewhere out there.

Or if you want to spend a bit of cash on a military-inspired jacket almost like Rosie’s, E!Online suggested an H&M Pea Coat priced at $70 or a Mango Buttoned Cotton Jacket priced at $130.

Then on Tuesday at the Elle Style Awards in London, the model switched things up and looked gorgeous rocking a leather LBD.

The LBD is a Roberto Cavalli Leather Asymmetrical Dress and it’s from the upcoming Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

At first glance, I wasn’t all that fond of the bustle on the hip but after looking at different pictures I came to like it, especially for a red carpet event like the Elle Style Awards. Without the bustle, I feel like the dress would look too simple although it’d be the perfect choice for a special night out. You’d look fancy yet still have an edginess to your look. My kind of fashion combo.

Until next time, you can check out Rosie’s Instagram (@rosiehw) where she posts many of her looks as well as items like lingerie, makeup and nightwear from her brand Rosie For Autograph!

Fashion Friday: Blake Lively

This past week was New York Fashion Week so what better time to start a Fashion Friday here?

On this lovely Friday, I bring you the gorgeous and undeniably fashionable Blake Lively.

Lively attended the Michael Kors Fall 2016 Runway Show on Wednesday wearing a beautiful nude dress by Kors with floral embellishments. The dress, the coat, the shoes, even the clutch…she looked incredible attending the show with her mother, Elaine Lively!

The actress posted this selfie at the show with her beautiful mom to her Instagram with the caption, “Mama arm candy 🍭🍬💪🍬🍭. Thank you @michaelkors for having us. And thank you for not arresting us when we attempted to sneak out with half the runway looks. 😜”

Continuing with the floral theme, later that day Lively stepped out wearing a poppy print dress from Kors’ Spring ’16 line. She also paired it with studded Louboutin heels.

Until next time, I’m going to go try and learn the ways of Blake’s fashion perfection and I want you to let me know if you have any suggestions of who I should honor on Fashion Fridays!

2016 SAG Awards Red Carpet Recap

What better way to squash those Monday blues than some red carpet fashion? Well, allow me to guide you right this way…

Saturday night was the 22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and as always the stars walked the red carpet before the show. There were quite a few gorgeous looks of the night, along with some questionable fashion choices, but let’s stick to the good highlights.

First up, Brie Larson. She not only won her first SAG award for Best Actress in a movie for Room, she won my vote of approval for her dress choice.

I thought Larson looked beautiful wearing Versace Couture, despite seeing some negative reviews. There’s just something about this dress that I’m obsessed with. It’s different and not a look many could pull off but for me, Larson had it styled perfectly. She wore her hair pulled back, simple and sleek, and didn’t wear too much jewelry or pair it with shoes that would distract from the dress.

Next, Emilia Clarke. The Game of Thrones star looked stunning in this Dior gown. The color, the length, it’s a combination of perfection for Clarke.

And of course, we have to give the gentlemen a few shout outs. One of my favorites was Christian Bale, who was nominated Saturday night for his supporting role in The Big Short. Both Bale and his wife, Sibi, wore Dolce&Gabbana. All black looks when it comes to suits are just so crisp, classy and a much-needed break from the typical black and white.

Another dapper gent of the evening was Finn Wittrock from American Horror Story. The actor rocked a Prada suit and was styled by Ashley Weston, who revealed his shirt was actually a pale dove gray. Although, it didn’t show up that way in the pictures.

And last but absolutely not least for the men, Idris Elba. The actor took home two SAG awards for his work in Beasts of No Nation and Luther and looked impeccable in an Ermenegildo Zegna three-piece suit. Elba is also pictured below with fellow nominee Rami Malek, who wore Ovadia & Sons.

Modern Family‘s Ariel Winter, who just celebrated her eighteenth birthday, looked gorgeous in a Romona Keveza gown. This one definitely topped my list of favorites when I saw her interviewed on the red carpet.

And one final look of the night, Kate Winslet. I looked at this Giorgio Armani dress and just thought, this is Kate. If you’ve seen Winslet’s red carpet fashion over the years, I hope you understand what I mean. Nothing too over the top or ostentatious, sleek and classy.

Until next time, tell me who you thought owned that SAG red carpet best and I hope this little fashion recap helped make your Monday less of a bummer!
